The Outcry Against
Michael Moore's New Movie
When we launched Move America Forward, we promised you that one of our functions would be to challenge those who sought to undermine the war on terrorism - whether it was Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi or propaganda film maker, Michael Moore.
Last week we asked Americans who found in Moore's movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" an attempt to undermine the war on terror, to let movie theater operators know about their objections. Think about it . . . If you walked into a Wal Mart store and saw they were selling merchandise that attacked the military, our troops and America's battle against Islamic terrorism, wouldn't you complain to the store manager or write a letter and ask that they not sell that product because it was undermining our national effort?
The response to our web-based effort (read more about it online at our web site - www.MoveAmericaForward.org) has been phenomenal. So many of you participated that it caught the attention of the national media. Every major television network, dozens of newspapers and radio stations throughout the country have interviewed us. Both major wire services and almost all of the entertainment press have profiled our efforts as well.
The mainstream media can't seem to understand what Americans are so upset about. The media, after all, is by and large thrilled to see Michael Moore undercutting the war on terrorism and are supporting his political desires to defeat President Bush.
Incredulously, some of Moore's supporters originally tried to argue that the public should not enjoy the freedom of speech to let movie theater owners know what they thought about their screening Moore's film. That would be censorship they said??!! They argued that only Moore had first amendment rights to lobby movie theaters to carry his film, but the public didn't have the right to voice their own opinions to the theater owners.

If you think I am over-stating the fact that the terrorists are cheering about the showing of this new propaganda movie -well please CLICK HERE and read how the terrorist group Hezbollah is trying to help distribute the film as widely as possible.
Today's beheading of yet another American by terrorists in the Middle East underscores the need for our nation to stay committed to winning the war on terrorism. Those who try to undermine that war are essentially siding with the enemy.
As Moore said of those in Iraq, who were engaged in attacks and carrying out atrocities against Americans:
"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -and they will win."
Do you believe that those responsible for the killing and beheading of Americans should be compared to Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin? Thankfully, as movie theater owners are being exposed to the misleading content of "Fahrenheit 9/11" and Moore's intentions, they are increasingly backing away from the film.
Moore had originally claimed that "more than 1,000" theaters would show his propaganda film. Then he and his associates claimed "around 1,000 theaters" would show the film. Then the number dropped to 700. Then 500.
When we checked out the film's website on Thursday, however, the number was only 417. Consider this -the Olsen Twin's recent movie "New York Minute" (which performed poorly at the box office) was in almost 3,000 theaters.
Clearly as movie theater owners and company executives became aware of the content of this film (and who was backing its release), they wanted nothing to do with it. And this is thanks to your good work and efforts.
As Greg Kilday of the Hollywood Reporter noted, the support for Moore's film from Hezbollah won't play well if the American public hears too much about it: "How about that 'Fahrenheit' flick? I hear Hezbollah gave it two big thumbs up" he sarcastically wrote.

Michael Moore is so upset by your efforts to make your voices heard that on Friday he posted a message to his supporters on his website urging them to help him repel the efforts of Move America Forward.

Today's beheading of an American citizen by Al Qaeda operatives serves as a reminder that this will be a prolonged war. At times Americans will be tempted by individuals like Michael Moore and Nancy Pelosi to simply give up.
Those who subscribe to the ideology of Moore and Pelosi want our men and women in the armed forces to come home in defeat. We want them to come home too -but in victory over the terrorist threat.
Some will say we will never be able to win the War on Terrorism. But of course, those are the same pessimistic voices we heard from those who told us America could never win the Cold War. They said Reagan was wrong, and we had to compromise with communism. Well, the Gipper proved them totally wrong.
We need to get our message out, and I am confident you will be excited about the TV ads we are producing. There are no contribution limits for our committee and corporate contributions are allowed.
